Working Groups:
The research division of Biotechnology and Microbiology (previously Gene Technology and Applied Biochemistry) has been originally established by the Federal Ministry of Research around the research group of Christian Kubicek in the previous Institute of Biochemical Technology and Microbiology in 1986 (under the name “Division for Microbial Biochemistry”). In 2002, it became one of the original seven (now six) research divisions of the new founded Institute of Chemical Engineering.
