In the working group "Natural Products and Archaeometry" the activities are focused on the characterization and identification of the organic matter occurring in all sorts of natural products stemming from the immediate present but also from historical times . Therefore microscopical and chemical chromatographic methods are applied, for which the informative value is very high and only tiny quantities of samples are needed.

Foodstuff industry, agrochemical manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, government agencies and groups with questions in archaeometry make use of these research services.
